Dear Students,
Following the air raid siren that was heard in Lublin during the night of 29–30 July, we understand that many of you and your families may have concerns about your safety.
At present, the Polish authorities have not indicated any direct threat to the safety of residents in Lublin or any need for extraordinary measures beyond the standard precautionary procedures. Medical University of Lublin is operating normally. The activation of the siren was a precautionary measure taken as part of Poland's national warning system in response to the temporary violation of Polish airspace. Such alerts are issued to ensure public safety and do not mean that residents of Lublin are in immediate danger.The University continuously follows official information provided by the relevant Polish authorities. Should the situation change, all students will be informed promptly through the University's official communication channels.
In situations like these, we encourage all students to rely exclusively on official communications issued by the Government Security Centre (RCB), local authorities, and reliable local news media.
Temporary Shelters at the Medical University of Lublin
As part of its emergency preparedness procedures, the University has designated temporary shelters ("ukrycia doraźne") in its buildings. Although we sincerely hope they will never need to be used, we encourage all students to familiarize themselves with their locations and the applicable safety procedures.Temporary shelters are available in the following University buildings:

Before any emergency occurs, we recommend that you:
· identify the nearest temporary shelter in the building you use most frequently;
· familiarize yourself with the route leading to the shelter and its emergency exits;
· read the shelter regulations and follow all safety instructions;
How to Recognize an Air Raid Alarm
An air raid alarm may be announced by:
· a modulated siren sounding for three minutes;
· official announcements broadcast by the media;
· an RCB Alert sent via SMS.
The end of the alarm is indicated by:
· a continuous three-minute siren;
· official cancellation announcements;
· an RCB Alert, if the warning was previously issued in this form.
We understand that recent events may cause concern, especially for those whose families live abroad. Please be assured that the Medical University of Lublin has established emergency procedures, remains in close contact with the relevant authorities, and will continue to keep the University community informed whenever necessary.
